PAN’s Emerging Printmakers Residency program is designed specifically for printmaking artists at the beginning of their professional careers.
This year’s participants include Mellisa Belli, Molly Carlson, Amanda Clemons, Qingru Cunningham, Grace Dunbar, Hector Marquez, Emma Mitchell, Neal McCormick, Olivia Noguiera Wheaton, Adam Novotny, Clancy O’Connor, G. Scott Raffield, Pearlyn Tan and Brian Tibbetts.
Program Purpose
- Provide professional development and guidance for emerging printmakers
- Provide a venue for exhibiting original prints
- Participate in PAN’s network of professional artists
Program Overview
Duration: one year
Number of resident artists: 18 in 2023
Cost: $200/year program fee, payable in 2 installments; limited scholarships are available
Program Benefits
- Access to Atelier Meridian (printmaking studio) in Portland for three months at no charge
- One-on-one mentoring with PAN member artist
- Inclusion in the Emerging Printmakers Exhibit at the end of the program
- Participation in PAN events such as board meetings and annual meeting
Monthly presentations at Atelier Meridian and other Portland locations that include:
- Artist demos
- Professional presentation of work
- An evening with a gallerist
- Legalities and ethics
- Fair usage of found imagery
- Art imagery on social media
